Share Workbook On Excel
Written By Basyarah
Hopefully this post can be useful for you. I have wrote “how to create automatic table of contents” on Microsoft Word before. Now, I will explain you a little bit about Microsoft Excel. This idea came from my work at the office. At the time an employee to open the excel file, and then he change the value in a cell, but appeared after the save, excel can not process because its status is “read only”. This condition indicates that the excel file has been opened by other users. So, what should an employee do?
Basically to solve this problem is very simple. Excel have made a function to solve this problem. You can share a workbook on excel just go to a menu “Tools –> Share Workbook”. It’s easy right? Then an Excel will show this dialog. You have to check the box than click OK button. The simple way usually is hard to find.
So, what will happen after this? Some users can use this excel file simultaneously. Although this is very useful, but excel still have limitations compared to using the application that is connected to a network database using DBMS. You can make an application using development tools such as Delphi, java, visual basic, and so on. To support network database you can use one of this DBMS such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and so on.
For your information that openoffice is also have this function.
Try this way, and give me a feed back.
